I’ve neglected this blog for a few days, so here’s what I’ve been up to. Pictures to come when I have more than 5 minutes to get anything done.
Friday – I took the day off and met up with one of my best friends, Heather, and her adorable son, Gabe, for a few laps around Loose Park. The weather was gorgeous, and it made me jealous of all of the other people at the park who get to do this on a regular basis. We talked about marriage and kids and family, and I had the best time. When I got home, I worked on my pro bono interior design project for Bea and created a few fall fashion looks for a friend. Daniel and I got on the road with our friends Sam and Kristen and headed to the Lake of the Ozarks for a couple of days. Sleep didn’t come until 4 AM when Kristen and I pushed aside the Pimms and round three of Cranium and ran inside after something (probably a crazed killer) ran into the side of the house. Despite the guys’ reassurances that nothing was lurking in the shadows, we couldn’t be coaxed back out on the screened-in porch.
Saturday – Our good friends Jill and Rob arrived, and we headed to the bar across the street to watch the MU game. Mizzou won! and we made our way down to the dock to finish off the daylight by floating around on noodles and reading celeb mags. With the evening came fajitas, delicious peach cobbler and more crazed rounds of Cranium. Let me just tell you that Kristen was able to successfully guess every object I sculpted out of clay. Michelangelo? Maybe.
Sunday – We visited the outlet mall and the Imo’s buffet at a lightning speed and then booked it home. I met Bea for coffee and presented her with the mood boards I had created for her living room and bedroom. We chatted forever over mochas and a raspberry brownie.
The weekend was so good.
