Resort wear is easily my favorite collection of any given year. For me, it always evokes the modern-day Babe Paleys and Lee Radziwills with their sun-kissed skin and tailored nonchalance. Below are a few of my favorites from lemlem’s 2011 collection.

Things I Thought About Today
1. Remember back in 1994 (I was in fifth grade) when it was cool to wear NBA jerseys and boys tennis shoes, specifically a NBA player’s shoe? Bea had the Shawn Kemp Kamikazes and made the boys go wild. Anyway, when Christmas rolled around, Jen asked for the Anfernee Hardaway Magics jersey, and I asked for the Dikembe Mutombo Nuggets jersey. Bea was infinitely cooler than me.

Weekend Highlights
Friday
- Daniel and I rented Easy A which we both found quite enjoyable. The ups: very good writing and Emma Stone’s talents will land her in movies not about high school stereotypes. The downs: as someone who was sort of a Jesus Freak myself in high school, the stereotyping of this group was a little over-sensationalized. Oh, and Amanda Bynes’s talents will never get her cast in...

True Sentiment. You won’t find much yellow in my house because I think I look awful in yellow.

My body seems to reject fancy food and/or prosecco. They last two times Daniel and I have eaten a nice meal at a respectable restaurant, I’ve felt nauseous and gross the following day. The first time this happened, we had a five course meal at Bluestem, and I had one glass of prosecco. The second time happened last night after we ate at Julian. Julian is owned and head chefed by Celina Tio of...

where did you come up with the name for your blog?
The Bee - is a tribute to my sister whom I call Bea. Her real name is Jen, and Bea is the result of an evolution of nicknames I’ve had for her. Bea has stuck. You can sometimes find her here.
And the Bud - is a tribute to my husband...

my co-worker told me she would never go to christopher elbow because of the name. whatever, more fleur de sel caramels for me.
Does your coworker know that Christopher Elbow is his real name? I’ve met his parents, and they are very nice people. They also bring chocolates when you invite them to a party. Seems like a silly reason to miss...

Weekend
Friday
- Daniel, Sister Bea, Josh A., and I ate at Jerusalem Cafe and then went to the Tivoli to see Black Swan. I awkwardly stared at sheasylvia in the concession line for a good three minutes trying to determine if it was really her. I’m glad she has normal social skills, unlike me, and asked Bea if she was on Tumblr. So anyway, Shea and Aaron are great, and I’m glad we met IRL,...
Email from the VP this morning: Happy Two Year Anniversary! Congratulations on meeting another milestone in your career.
My reply: Thanks. I’ve been here three years though.

Daniel is freaking out because our cable is stuck on Bravo. I don’t see what the problem is.
