A Few Things...While I Was Away
- Daniel and I, the kids (Sister Bea and Josh A.) and my parents saw True Grityesterday evening. If you didn’t talk like Mattie Ross for at least an hour after this movie, you didn’t enjoy it enough. I’m now contemplating naming my first two dogs Rooster and LeBoeuf.
- I cut my hair. Shorter than I ever have. I’m not over-the-moon about the ‘do, but I do...

Did I mention that I’m in the Fantasy Football Super Bowl? And that I’m guaranteed to win some money? It all starts tonight with Mendenhall.

On Saturday afternoon, Daniel and I attended my nephew’s first birthday party. It was a blast from start to finish, and Mister Austin did a great job opening presents and an even better job eating cake.
The birthday boy eating lunch.
Hurry up Grandpa, that’s my favorite toy.
New horse and cowboy hat!
The bulldozer Uncle Josh made.

Where is this furniture store?!
It’s called Vintage Market. It’s at Zona Rosa, but I think there is another one in Leawood.

Weekend
Friday
- Daniel and I joined dental school friends for our monthly get-together. We made homemade pizzas and calzones, which were delicious. If you are in KC, the downtown Cosentino’s will sell you ready-to-roll-out-and-bake pizza dough. I will be taking advantage of this in the future.
Saturday
- My mother and I went to Zona Rosa to get some Christmas shopping done. You know those...
Today is bonus day at work. Now with my job, a bonus isn’t just a Honeybaked Ham and a slap on the ass. It’s a good chunk of my total income. For 11.5 months, I live like a well-respected nursery school teacher. And then in mid-December, I get my bonus, and Daniel and I can actually afford to go on vacation or buy a couch. So needless to say, I’m a little excited.

The following is a quote from Bea in reference to Lindsay and I’s fresh manicures. You Don’t Know Jacques. Mine was matte, and Lindsay’s was classic shiny.
Sarah’s looks like she painted her car herself, whereas Lindsay’s looks like she had her car professionally painted.
