If you don’t already carry an Anthro card from Anthropologie, you need to get one quick. It’s not a credit card which is good for me because I would otherwise have a big problem. This card doesn’t really do that much except keep track of your receipts, and unless you are at the store, you probably won’t remember that it’s in your wallet. UNLESS IT IS YOUR...
So I just got a wetland report (text, photos, data sheets, figures) through quality review without having to make one single correction. I feel like this warrants a promotion or at least a McDonald’s small vanilla cone presented to me at my cubicle.
So a trip with Sister Bea to see Linz babe in southern CA seems to be in the works. I’m super excited to enjoy some sunny weather with two of the funniest people I know. Those two can go back and forth, baiting each other with one hilarious comment after another, for almost an hour. Watching this madness will leave you gasping for air. Love these classy ladies.

So I ran 18 miles this week for the first time in my life. I’ve never been a runner, but I teared up while watching the start of the Chicago marathon this past October from the sidelines and convinced myself that I needed to run it. I don’t think I’ve worked this hard at anything before. Except maybe convincing Daniel to date me and then marry me or that replica of...
Gr. Elaine, if you’re out there and reading this, send up a flare. I was thinking about you yesterday and will be going south to see you for your birthday (and mine) in February. I’m dragging Sister Bea along with me (only it won’t be dragging, she will gladly come).
Word to the Wise
If you are considering a job in environmental consulting, you will spend 80 percent of your time writing reports on such thrilling topics as floodplain encroachments or impaired streams in Virginia. Don’t all jump at once.
As I was staring out at the gray, Kansas City sky this afternoon from my cubicle and suffering from a bad case of the 3 o’clock blues, I was listening to the folksy Oriole Post and started thinking about the Ozark Mountains (more accurately hills) and my upbringing in southwest Missouri. As much as I am a city girl now and don’t think I could ever live in a town of 7,000 people...

It's About Time
We need to move slow like a train does when it leaves the station because if I need to bail early I’d prefer it if we weren’t moving at incredible speeds. When you move in for the first kiss, move in with no hesitation like a child eats ice cream on a summer day. If you wait too long I might just melt all over the tile floor. And don’t tell me you love me until you really know me...

I’m very happy right now. Why? My friend Sarah, who I’ve known for nineteen years, has started a blog. Sarah is a Scientist with amazing style, a sweetheart of a husband, an enviable apartment in the Midwest, and the ability to make some of the best chocolate cookies I’ve eaten in my life. She loves to bake and one day when she opens a beautiful bakery, I’ll be a big customer. Big...
